How to install the new Sony Xperia XZ Premium running the new PlayStation operating system
Posted October 03, 2018 04:29:59Sony has announced the first update to its operating system to include support for the PlayStation 4, a change that brings a host of new features and improvements.
Sony said that the upgrade will be rolling out on the PlayStation Store this week and that it will be available in all countries that the company currently supports.
PlayStation 4 owners will have to wait until November 12 for the update, but Sony said that “the PlayStation 4 update will be installed automatically”.
The update will include support to improve the stability of the PS4 and PS4 Pro, a new “Networking” feature, and more.
The PS4 update will make use of new software called “Advanced Software Configuration”, which lets users configure the operating system.
The update also introduces “Automatic Updates”, a feature which automatically installs updates when they are available.
The Sony Xperia Alpha, Sony Xperia Z, and Sony Xperia E models are already equipped with the PS 4 update, although the Xperia Z was not able to be updated until November 15.
Sony also revealed that the PlayStation 6 is also supported, as the operating systems version is set to be “PlayStation 6.10”.
The update to the operating environment for the PS5 and PlayStation 6 are still to come, although Sony is expected to have it out by the end of this year.
